How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Psalms 13:1-2 (NKJV)
I’m intimately familiar with the wrestlings you’re currently having. While the source of the test and trial are different, as with our friend David, the results are very similar. We doubt. We wrestle. We wonder. Our faith is under attack by a new and challenging set of circumstances. Often they come on top of the last set of issues we faced. Overwhelmed is a true statement describing your life.
God sends reminders constantly to us to ‘always pray and not lose heart’ as Jesus taught us. The fragility of humanity, our own humanness, is evident in times of severe trials and while we may not always be happy with what surfaces from the deep crevices of our hearts, we can with great confidence trust the One who is faithful even when we are faithless.
If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 2 Tim 2:13 (NKJV)
Sometimes God chooses, in His Sovereign will, to deliver us from the trial! Oh happy day!
Other times God chooses to deliver us THROUGH the trial. Oh, not so happy day, at least we think and feel it.
God’s faithful either way friend. Trust Him.
Stay strong. I’m with you.
A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity. Prov 17:17 (NKJV)
