It was Norman Geisler that taught us, “The New Testament is in the Old concealed, and the Old Testament is in the New revealed.” There is so much to learn as you study through the Bible and see Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World, revealed in wonderful ways. Consider these 10 Prophetic insights of Messiah from Isaiah fulfilled in Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John.
1. The Shepherd and the Sheep.
Isaiah 40:11 (NKJV) “He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.”
John 10:11 (NKJV) ““I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”
2. The Hungry are Fed
Isaiah 49:10 (NKJV) “They shall neither hunger nor thirst, Neither heat nor sun shall strike them; For He who has mercy on them will lead them, Even by the springs of water He will guide them.”
John 6:35 (NKJV) “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
3. The Thirsty are Quenched.
Isaiah 55:1 (NKJV) ““Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.”
John 7:37 (NKJV) “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.”
4. The Gift of the Holy Spirit is given
Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV) “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
John 14:26 (NKJV) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
5. The Promised Leading of God is available.
Isaiah 48:7 (NKJV) “They are created now and not from the beginning; And before this day you have not heard them, Lest you should say, ‘Of course I knew them.’”
John 16:13 (NKJV) “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
6. God offers salvation to the world.
Isaiah 45:22 (NKJV) ““Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.”
John 10:16 (NKJV) “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”
7. Fear No More
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”
John 14:1 (NKJV) ““Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.”
8. Spiritual Freedom is yours by faith.
Isaiah 61:1 (NKJV) ““The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”

9. The Blind will See!
Isaiah 35:5 (NKJV) “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.”
John 9:39 (NKJV) “And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”
10. The Comfort of God is yours by faith.
