“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people. Psalm 82:3-4 (NLT)
There is a special place in the heart of God toward those who have no voice, those who have experienced great loss, those that have been taken advantage of, those oppressed, those hurting, those who are poor, those who are helpless, those who are in the grasp of evil people.
There is a special place for the believer in the middle of all of this unfairness. Where has God called you to minister the love, mercy, and grace of the gospel? We cannot sit idly by while oppression takes place all around us. This is is not a political statement, it’s a Gospel statement!
When you set out to personally help and serve those hurting in these categories, you are in the middle of God’s will.
I hope there is an outflow of your heart for the widow, the poor and the orphan, the one without father or mother, the ones on the streets, in the foster care system, waiting for adoption.
There is a mission field of hurting people if we will just open our eyes and obey the leading of the Spirit. While we can’t do everything and solve every problem, we can do something! Let’s do it.
