Your God is Big
Acts 26: 1-11

Following along with Paul and his two-and-a-half-year trial, it is amazing to see that he seized every moment to share his faith with anyone who would listen.

Paul’s story reminds us that sometimes, the open doors that God provides come by the way of life’s trials. I believe Paul walked into every situation with the same unwavering attitude, “How can I glorify God in this?” What an example and lesson to us. Whether we are facing tough times or in a period of rest, are we seeking to glorify God in everything we do?

As we begin Acts 26, we find the Apostle Paul standing before King Agrippa, sharing his testimony with great courage and clarity. Paul’s testimony is a God story. Paul uses this as another opportunity to glorify God and share the transformative power of the Gospel.

Every believer has their own unique story of God’s work in their life. No one can argue with you about your story—it’s uniquely yours. You really have no idea how powerful your personal testimony is until you start sharing it with people. I hope you’re communicating it in one way or another what God has done in your life. If you aren’t, I encourage you to start today. It’s powerful!

Paul’s question to Agrippa, “Why should it be thought incredible by you that God raises the dead?” challenges us to believe in God’s power to do the impossible. (Acts 28:) We often limit God by our human understanding, but He can do far more than we can imagine. When we face difficulties, it’s important to always evaluate them in terms of the Power of God. I mean, if He created the universe, then surely, He can come to your aid.

Let’s pause for a minute and remember that this is a 2+ year trial in Paul’s life, most of it living in house arrest. Why is this happening to him? It’s God’s will. In difficult times, it’s natural to ask, “Why is this happening?” But I encourage you to shift your focus from why to who! This shift in perspective can bring peace. Does it take the pain away? No. When we realize that sometimes suffering is part of God’s plan and that our struggles might be paving the way for something greater, we can find strength in His sovereignty. Remember who you are putting your trust in.

Remember, Paul is standing here, before King Agrippa in the power of God. It’s a reminder that our past doesn’t define us—God’s grace does. Paul’s past was filled with rage and persecution, and yet even he was transformed by God’s grace. No matter your background, your story can become a powerful testimony of redemption and hope in the hands of God!
