Pastor, your loyalty matters.
It matters to Jesus, to your wife and family, to those you serve, and to the pastor God has placed you alongside.
Your pastor needs men by his side who will support, defend, and walk with him in faithfulness to the vision God has given him. Be a true friend. Be loyal, no matter what is happening around you. Stand with the man God has called to lead. Loyalty does not require you to overlook sin or ignore what is wrong, but even in difficult moments, point people to the Lord. Let unconditional love and fidelity mark your life.
Romans 13:1 (NKJV) “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.”
In the fellowship where you serve, there is one vision. Not two or ten or a hundred. There is just one. Support your pastor’s vision, and encourage your ministry team to walk in unity around it. Guard the peace and unity of your church. Lock shields together with those you serve alongside, refusing to allow personal agendas or frustrations to divide the flock.
The enemy loves to tempt leaders with an attitude like that of Absalom, stirring division and pulling hearts away from unity. Faithful men do not entertain this temptation. If you see your pastor struggling, don’t gossip or gather people to yourself. Go directly to him. Share the truth in love. Pray together. Division weakens the church and grieves the heart of God.
Romans 15:20 (NKJV) “And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation.”
Loyal pastors do not steal sheep from other congregations or build personal kingdoms on earth. They stay in their lane, following the example of Paul, who refused to build on another man’s foundation. If God has a call upon your life to lead a congregation, then go to an area of real need. Go where a church doesn’t exist and plant one there! Protect the unity of the Spirit within your local church. Division and disunity hinder the work of God and disrupt the peace of the Holy Spirit.
Titus 3:1 (NKJV) “Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work.”
Pastor, be loyal to Jesus, to your family, and to your pastor. Walk in humility and faithfulness, ready for every good work God places before you. Let your life be marked by submission to God’s order and a steadfast spirit that builds unity in the body of Christ.
Guard the unity of the Spirit as you serve.
