Many voices are competing for our attention. Someone or something is trying to steal away our hearts and minds at every turn. God sent His only Son Jesus into the world as the final, superior, and lone voice to listen to.

The battle of our minds surrounds knowing our true identity. Who am I? How did I get here? What is my purpose in life? This is the target point that our culture shoots at. There are many false identities offered to take us away from God’s actual plan and purpose for our lives.

The very root of false religions, fanciful philosophies, and bankrupt origin theories is a refusal to acknowledge God’s revelation of Himself to man. God has clearly revealed Himself through creation, our conscience, law and justice, his angels, teachers, and many messengers. God speaks to Adam, Eve, Cain, Noah, Noah’s sons, Abraham, Abimelech, Rebekah, Isaac, Jacob, Laban, Joseph, and many more in Genesis alone. Yet none of these was His complete message. To give the world His full message, God sent His only Son, the final word to all of humanity!

Hebrews 1:1–2 (NKJV) “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;.”

The Bible gives us at least eight reasons why Jesus is the supreme messenger with the ultimate message of God.

  1. Jesus is the Supreme Spokesman.

God is so concerned with us understanding Him and His plan of salvation that He entered the world Himself! Jesus is the very word of God!

John 1:1-2 (NKJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.

2.     Jesus is the appointed Heir of all things.

Jesus is the lawful owner of all things. He alone inherited all that God is and has. Jesus bought the world with His own blood! He owns us.

Ephesians 1:11-12 (NKJV) In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

3.     Jesus is the Creator and Maker of the universe.

Jesus is supreme because He is Creator. He is superior to any prophets before or after Him because He created them! There is nothing and no one that wasn’t created by Him and for Him.

Colossians 1:16-17 (NKJV) For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

4.     Jesus is the very glory of God Himself.

Jesus possessed in His eternal existence the glory of God before He came into the world. He has always existed in the glory of God. He is God!

Colossians 2:9-10 (NKJV) For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

5.     Jesus is the exact representation of God.

Jesus is the express image of His person. Jesus is God in human flesh!

John 14:9-10 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

6.     Jesus is the Sustainer of the universe.

No man, no government, no scientist, no theory or philosophy holds the universe together. Through His Son, God is in control and is maintaining the world and moving it forward to a climactic moment of renewal!

Colossians 1:17 (NKJV) And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Acts 17:28 (NKJV) for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

7.     Jesus is the Redeemer of all mankind.

The redemption of souls doesn’t come through some famous guru, some great prophet, or some artificial religion, but rather redemption comes through a Person. Only a perfect Person could ever purify and cleanse men from their sins!

John 1:29-30 (NKJV) The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!  “This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’

8.     Jesus is the exalted Lord and Mediator.

Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Father. It is complete. Redemption is now available to all who will call upon His name! Jesus is at the right hand of authority, respect, of finality.

Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV) Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus is Superior! Jesus is the final and all-encompassing message from God. He is the living Word! In Him, all of the promises of God are “Yes” and “amen.” When we receive Jesus as our Savior, we welcome fulfilling all of God’s promises. My hope and prayer are that you fall in love with Jesus all the more! Trust Him with your life.

Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If not, I invite you to today. Jesus is waiting with open arms to welcome you into His family. Won’t you come today?
