Many unknowns are waiting for you in this new day, week, month, and year. There are so many questions that are yet unanswered. But one thing we know for sure, you will face difficulties and battles along the way. Following Jesus is not always an easy thing. Sure, trusting Him by faith is the key. Yet, He warned us of upcoming strife and difficulties. He taught us to be aware that opposition will come.

John 15:18–19 (NLT) “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.”

John 16:33 (NLT) “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.”

I have found over the years that an essential key to facing difficulties is to have the right perspective. Our perspective matters. How we choose to see things matters. How we choose to process things matters. What we choose to focus on matters. Having the proper perspective is especially important when facing ‘giants’ in our lives. Giants come in all shapes and sizes. They can be our fears, anxieties, failures, weaknesses, addictions, and yes, like David of old faced, even people.  I don’t know how big the giants are in your life you are facing right now, but I do know the Lord is with you, and you will have victory in Him!

An underlying and ongoing internal battle that you and I deal with when we are faced with difficulties is that we lose perspective. Many times we are so overwhelmed by the enemies, so overcome by our problems, that we lose the true and proper perspective of who we are and Who God is in our lives!  When we lose perspective, fear can so quickly grip our hearts. In the midst of that fear, we are being set up for more discouragement, more defeat, and ultimately if we don’t look up our destruction! Lord, help us.

Proverbs 21:31 (NLT) “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.”

He does help us!  As we learn through the battle of David and Goliath, victory is ours by faith because God is for us.

The battle belongs to the Lord. Could you give it over to Him, again if needed, right now?

1 Samuel 17:47 (NLT) “And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”

God is for you, not against you!  God has made available to you all the resources of heaven!  The strength of God is yours. The wisdom of God is yours. The power of God is yours. The victory is yours by faith. When God is for you, who can be against you? AMEN!

If you, as David, will get your eyes on the Lord and go out in the name of the Lord, the giants will fall.

You can experience God’s victory over every foe. May God grant you that victory this week as you go in Jesus’ name.
