Are you struggling today with a situation you don’t know how to handle? Is it a relationship difficulty? Is it a problem with a co-worker at the office? Is it with your neighbor? Is it a leadership issue that you have never had to deal with before? When we wrestle with problems, we can feel stuck and even a bit hopeless. We want out, but we really need wisdom—wisdom from God!

So often, what we lack in helping to resolve a problem is not information, knowledge, or skills; it’s wisdom. We have enough information. The problem is obvious. It’s the solution that we can’t figure out. What are we supposed to do? It’s not “what the issue is”; it’s “how I help resolve it.”

There is a big difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge would describe the “facts” of the matter, while wisdom would tell “how to use those facts.”  In troubling times, we need wisdom, the very wisdom of God.

When you receive wisdom from God, you can rest assured that there will be a straight answer, a clear path in your darkest times.

Proverbs 8:8 (NKJV) “All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.”

When you receive wisdom from God, you can be confident that it will be a plain answer, an honest response that you can use and apply.

Proverbs 8:9 (NKJV) “They are all plain to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge.”

When you receive wisdom from God, you can be confident that you will gain the understanding you want and so desperately need: real clarity in your confusion.

Proverbs 8:14 (NKJV) “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength.”

As you ask God for wisdom, He will give it to you in abundance.  Isn’t that amazing?!

James 1:5 (NKJV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

An oft-overlooked servant leadership principle is the wisdom of God. You don’t need to figure it out. It’s not all on your shoulders. You can ask God for His wisdom, and He will give it to you!  Ask today.
