There are so many today who belittle any references to what the Bible calls the “last days”. Some go so far as to mock followers of Jesus who believe Him and obey Him in awaiting His soon return, eagerly and expectantly.

Luke 21:28 (NKJV) “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

The Bible is clear on many aspects of what the last days look like.

Consider these 25 characteristics of people in the last days and see if you come to the conclusion that we are indeed living in them!

  1. People will be lovers of themselves (2 Timothy 3:2)
  2. People will be covetous (2 Timothy 3:2)
  3. People will be boasters (2 Timothy 3:2)
  4. People will be proud. (2 Timothy 3:2)
  5. People will be blasphemers (2 Timothy 3:2)
  6. People will be disobedient to parents (2 Timothy 3:2)
  7. People will be unthankful (2 Timothy 3:2)
  8. People will consider nothing as sacred (2 Timothy 3:2)
  9. People will be unloving (2 Timothy 3:3)
  10. People will be unforgiving (2 Timothy 3:3)
  11. People will slander others (2 Timothy 3:3)
  12. People will have no self-control (2 Timothy 3:3)
  13. People will be unusually cruel (2 Timothy 3:3)
  14. People will have no interest in what is good (2 Timothy 3:3)
  15. People will betray friends (2 Timothy 3:4)
  16. People will be reckless (2 Timothy 3:4)
  17. People will be puffed up with pride (2 Timothy 3:4)
  18. People will be lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God (2 Timothy 3:4)
  19. People will have a form of godliness but deny God (2 Timothy 3:5)
  20. People will take advantage of women, weakened by sin (2 Timothy 3:6)
  21. People will always been learning but not coming to knowledge of truth (2 Timothy 3:7)
  22. People will resist the truth (2 Timothy 3:8)
  23. People will have corrupt minds (2 Timothy 3:8)
  24. People will have a fake faith from a depraved mind (2 Timothy 3:8)
  25. People will not progress in fake faith and fail miserably (2 Timothy 3:9)

2 Timothy 3:1-9 (NLT) You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that.  6 They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by many desires. 7 Such women are forever following new teachings, but they never understand the truth. 8 And these teachers fight the truth just as Jannes and Jambres fought against Moses. Their minds are depraved, and their faith is counterfeit. 9 But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as happened with Jannes and Jambres.

    2Tim Antonym poem by Heather

After the rapture, they will focus on love for others, and would only care for the wealth in their hearts.
They will be humble and unassuming.
Worshipping God, obedient to their parents, and ever so grateful.
    They will consider everything sacred.
They will be fruitful, and forgiving.
They will commend others, giving them acclamation, having abundant self control.
They will be considerate, and love what is good.
They will honor their friends, be cautious, filled with love, and will desire to please the Lord more than anything else.
They will grow their relationship with God, and embrace the power that makes them Godly. Stay in touch with people like this.
